Murphy Rénard is an old friend of Sidney Prescott from Windsor College in Scream 2. Later in her life, Murphy became a hairdresser who works in Cantonville. She is best friends with Lois Gilmore. Murphy is the fifth character to fall victim to the fifth Ghostface killing spree.
Scream 5[]
Murphy constantly attends the hairdressing salon, the Pink Spike, in Cantonville. She has heard about the first two murders of the fifth Ghostface killing spree, Maria Whilton and Vicki Elsen, as they often visit the Pink Spike to get their hair done.
Murphy was told that she would be left alone attending the hairdressing salon all alone for the day. Right when she is about to close up the hairdressing salon, she hears the doorbell ring. As she walks to the main entrance to the salon, she finds nobody at the door, considering it was just a childish ding-dong-ditch prank. Before leaving her workplace, Murphy packs belongings. The woman then hears the floor behind her creak. She turns around and finds nothing. Ghostface then busts out of a nearby closet, waving the knife around as the psycho tries to kill her. The masked killer manages to make Murphy unsteady when the killer stabs her in the back. Murphy smacks the knife out of the killer's hand and tries to find an opening to escape. However, she was cornered by Ghostface and was stabbed by Ghostface several times in the face by a sharp pair of scissors, killing her.
After Death[]
Lois becomes tragic when she hears that Murphy falls victim to the fifth Ghostface killing spree, but is comforted by Sidney Prescott when she visits her in Cantonville.
